 Wilcox Park is a 14˝-acre Victorian strolling park in the heart of town. The park, designed and created in 1898 by Warren Manning (an associate of Fredrick Law Olmsted), has a pond, meadow, arboretum, perennial garden, sculptures, fountains, and monuments. Concerts, plays, and arts festivals are held periodically. www.westerlylibrary.org. Homes in downtown Westerly were mostly built in the 18th and 19th Century. Many were converted to multi-family homes as times changed. Some of the other historical buildings are the Library, Post Office, Washington Trust Bank.
